|MLBPA Press Release|
The Cool Kids Campaign is dedicated to improving the quality of life for pediatric oncology patients and their families as they go through the trauma of a cancer diagnosis and its treatments. Established in 2006, the Cool Kids Campaign distributes individualized care packages to children with cancer and publishes a quarterly Cool Kids Connection newsletter featuring educational and entertaining submissions from kids and their families. This fall, the campaign will launch its Cool Kids Learning Center designed to provide oncology patients with a normal childhood while addressing the academic, social and emotional issues that result from a cancer diagnosis. For more information about the Cool Kids Campaign, please visit http://coolkidscampaign.org/.
Courtesy of the Players Trust, the children will receive round-trip transportation to the game, meet the players and receive free tickets, food, beverages and souvenirs.
This season, Buses for Baseball will provide transportation and personal greetings for more than 750 underprivileged children attending Major League Baseball games as invited guests of their big league heroes. Buses for Baseball will provide many of the children with their first chance to attend a Major League Baseball game.
The Players Trust enjoys support from the Baltimore Orioles organization in providing this unique, up close and personal opportunity to share the thrill of Major League Baseball with those less fortunate.
