MLBPA Executive Director Michael Weiner to speak at The National Press Club
NEW YORK -- Michael Weiner, executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association, will speak at a luncheon hosted by The National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, April 11.
Weiner's appearance is scheduled just days after the start of the 2012 baseball season, and the day before the Washington Nationals' home opener.
Weiner will discuss how the collective bargaining relationship between Major League baseball players and club owners helps shape the future of America's favorite pastime, and how this process could serve as an example to current and future labor-management relationships.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $19 for Press Club members, $30 for guests of members, and $37 for general admission. To reserve tickets, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (202) 662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.
