Atlanta Braves announce front office moves
Atlanta Braves President, John Schuerholz, has announced some staff transactions and a restructuring of some senior level staff members.
In baseball operations, General Manager Frank Wren’s contract has been extended through 2014. Wren, the Braves 13th General Manager, finished his fifth season as the Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager. He was named to his current post on October 11, 2007.
Bruce Manno, has been elevated from Braves Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Development to Vice President and Assistant General Manager/Player Development. The 2012 season was Manno’s fifth with the Braves.
John Coppolella, previously the Braves Director of Professional Scouting has been named Assistant General Manager. He has been with the Braves through six seasons.
“These changes are a reflection of the good work and success of our Major League baseball team and the work of Frank and his senior staff,” said Schuerholz.
In addition, the following restructuring has taken place on the Braves business side:
Paul Adams has been promoted from Senior Director of Ticket Sales to Vice President of Ticket Sales. Adams, who has been with the Braves since 1989, manages all aspects of Braves ticket sales including suites and premium seating and is responsible for the successful rollout of both SunTrust Club and Georgia’s Own Credit Union Club.
Jim Allen has been elevated from Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships to Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. Allen is responsible for all Braves corporate sponsorships including advertising sales for Braves radio. He has successfully raised the revenue associated with Braves sponsors over the last several years. Allen came to the Braves in November, 1993.
Gus Eurton has been promoted from Executive Director of Marketing to Vice President of Marketing. Eurton, who started with the Braves in May, 2004, is directly responsible for the management and oversight of the Braves overall marketing efforts including advertising, branding, community affairs and game entertainment. He also serves as the project manager for many of the Braves most significant special events including the 2011 and 2012 Civil Rights Game and the overall management of the Braves game day operations.
Eric Perestuk has been elevated to Vice President of Facility Operations from Director of Engineering. Perestuk is responsible for overseeing all construction, special projects and facility maintenance for Turner Field. He started with Turner Broadcasting in 1987 and came over to the Braves in 1996 to oversee the Olympic Stadium transition into Turner Field.
“We have been planning a restructuring of our senior staff on the business side for some time,” said Schuerholz. “The combined years of experience and expertise of these individuals is invaluable and deserved of these elevations.”
The Atlanta Braves have earned 14 division championships, five National League pennants, and a World Series title. Based in Atlanta since 1966, the Braves franchise is the longest continuously operating franchise in Major League Baseball.
