Braves-Mets briefly delayed by power outage
By Jon Cooper / Special to MLB.com
At 8:07 p.m. ET, with two outs and a runner at first base, Mets catcher Josh Thole took a called strike from Braves pitcher Tim Hudson. As Hudson looked in to catcher David Ross, who was calling a pitch, the lights around the top of Turner Field and the wrap-around message boards across the upper deck suddenly went black, leaving the field in the dark.
While the message boards came back up almost immediately, the lights did not.
Fortunately, by 8:23, the lights were back up, and Thole was able to hit in normal light. It didn't help him, as he struck out, swinging through a Hudson 2-2 cutter to end the inning.
