Reliever broke hand while punching door after game in June

But his days in Atlanta officially came to a close on Thursday, when the Braves granted his request to be released.
One day after Bennett broke his non-pitching hand with his fit of rage, the Braves suspended his pay. This led the 29-year-old reliever to file a grievance, which he may pursue through the Major League Baseball Players Association.
In 33 appearances with the Braves this year, Bennett posted a 3.18 ERA, surrendered a .415 on-base percentage and allowed 39 percent of his inherited runners to score.
