Caray's memorial service set for Monday

Family requests donations to broadcaster's favorite charities

SAN FRANCISCO -- A memorial service for Skip Caray will be held Monday in Atlanta at Cathedral of Christ the King. All of Caray's friends and fans are welcome to attend the service, which will begin at 4 p.m. ET.

Since Caray passed away at the age of 68 on Sunday, the Caray family has been overwhelmed by the support they've received. In lieu of flowers, they've asked that donations be made to one of three charitable organizations in memory of the longtime Braves broadcaster.

During his 33 seasons as a Braves broadcaster, Caray quietly and proudly gave back to the Atlanta community through multiple charitable endeavors. One of his favorite charitable organizations was Camp Twin Lakes, a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round activities for children facing serious illnesses and other physical, emotional and life challenges.

Donations in Caray's honor can be made to Camp Twin Lakes (www.camptwinlakes.org), the Winship Cancer Institute (www.cancer.emory.edu) or Small Dog Rescue (www.smalldoghumane.org), which is an organization that finds homes for homeless dogs in the Atlanta area.

Christ the King is located in Buckhead, at the corner of Peachtree Street and Peachtree Avenue just north of West Wesley Street.
