Soriano to be activated from DL

But by the time the Braves completed their 3-2 loss a few hours later, it was confirmed that the right-hander finally felt healthy enough to be activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Soriano is expected to be activated before Wednesday's game. He'll be taking the roster spot of outfielder Matt Diaz, who is going on the disabled list with a left knee injury. Braves manager Bobby Cox wants to work with an extra pitcher over the next few days.
Despite the fact that no structural damage has ever been located in his right elbow, the veteran reliever hasn't pitched since April 6.
As for left-handed reliever Mike Gonzalez, he will certainly begin his Minor League rehab assignment with Double-A Mississippi on Wednesday. The left-handed reliever, who is coming back from Tommy John elbow ligament surgery, was given medical clearance on Tuesday. His rehab assignment will likely last at least 10 days.
