The Atlanta Braves will host their first ever Celebrity-Alumni Softball Classic at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 before the Braves take on the Detroit Tigers in a 4:05 p.m. game. Free with your Braves-Tigers ticket, the Celebrity-Alumni Softball Classic will feature Braves alumni including Dale Murphy, Sid Bream, Otis Nixon, Steve Avery, Gene Garber, Greg McMichael, Brian Jordan and more; many local radio and TV personalities; actor Daniel Cudmore from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse; singers Dionne Farris and Jessie James; The Zach Brown Band's Jimmy DeMartini and Chris Fryar; UGA Head Basketball Coach Mark Fox, and many more. Murphy and Bream will captain the two squads.

The Celebrity-Alumni Softball Classic is one of many events scheduled for the Braves inaugural Alumni Weekend, June 25-28, benefitting the Atlanta Braves Foundation. Other events include alumni-fan meet and greets on Friday and Sunday at Turner Field, the Diamond Gala on Sunday evening at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, and Foundation Golf Classic at East Lake Golf Club on Monday morning.

The non-profit arm of the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Braves Foundation actively supports community organizations and their programs within the metro Atlanta area. Since its inception in 1992, the Atlanta Braves Foundation has provided support to thousands of metro Atlanta based organizations and has contributed more than 3.15 million dollars in financial assistance to the community. Through the generous support of Braves fans, players, employees, and partners, the Atlanta Braves Foundation continuously strives to improve the quality of life for our youth.
