The Atlanta Braves announced today that they have purchased the contracts of five players, including three from Mississippi (AA) and two from Gwinnett (AAA). All five players are pitchers, including right-handers Kyle Cofield and Jeff Lyman and left-handers Lee Hyde, Jose Ortegano and Jonny Venters.

Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager Frank Wren announced today that the Club has agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Tim Hudson on a three-year contract extension through 2012, with a Club option for 2013. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.

Atlanta Braves Director of Player Development Kurt Kemp announced today that the Braves have hired two new staff members, as Dave Wallace has agreed to terms to become the Club's Minor League Pitching Coordinator and Garey Ingram has been named the hitting coach at Mississippi (AA). Wallace, who was given a two-year contract through the 2011 season, replaces Kent Willis. Wallace's primary responsibility will be to oversee the progress and development of the Braves' minor league pitchers at all levels.

Beginning this Thursday, November 12, fans can secure tickets for some of the hottest Braves game in 2010, including Opening Day vs. the Chicago Cubs, the Braves Fourth of July celebration (on Saturday, July 3), and match-ups with the Houston Astros, New York Mets, and Kansas City Royals, with the "Holiday 6-Game Gift Pack." Also included in the 6-Game Pack this year, a marquee minor league match-up, as the Scranton Yankees will come to town to take on the Gwinnett Braves on Friday, June 4, in a clash of two 2009 postseason contenders.

Gwinnett Braves General Manager, Bruce Baldwin announced today that he will step down from his position once a replacement is named, but he will remain with the Braves as a special minor league consultant.

Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager Frank Wren today announced the appointment of Tony DeMacio as the Club's new Director of Scouting. DeMacio, who was given a two-year contract through the 2011 season, replaces Roy Clark.
