The Texas Rangers today announced the launch of Rangers Republic - a new interactive fan-engagement program.  Rangers Republic is a free online rewards portal where fans can earn points and have the chance to win prizes for utilizing team activities such as social media interaction with designated Rangers accounts, visits to texasrangers.com and shopping in the online Rangers store.

Points can be redeemed for virtual tokens to enter Rangers sweepstakes and for online discounts on merchandise, MLB.tv and additional Rangers-related benefits.

"We are always looking for new ways to connect with our fans and acknowledge their loyalty to the Texas Rangers," said Rangers President of Business Operations Rick George. "Rangers Republic gives us another outlet to reward our fans for their support."

Rangers season ticket holders were introduced to Rangers Republic last week, and the program is available to all fans beginning today.

The first three sweepstakes featured on Rangers Republic will run through May 31 and include a pair of tickets to a Rangers game and one of two unique experiences - a VIP ride around the Rangers Ballpark warning track or a chance to watch batting practice on the field.  The third sweepstakes features a personalized mention from the Rangers on Twitter.

Fans can enroll in Rangers Republic by creating a profile on RangersRepublic.com, or by logging in with their MLB.com account information.  After joining Rangers Republic, fans can connect the social media profiles of their choice, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to begin earning points.

Additional Rangers Republic sweepstakes, prizes, benefits and points-earning activities will be introduced throughout the year. Full information on the program can be found at RangersRepublic.com.
