Bartolo Colon pitched out of several jams until the sixth, when Jason Varitek's two-run home run tied the score. Vladimir Guerrero's first hit of the series, a two-run single, gave the Angels the early lead, but a Boston four spot in the ninth took away any chance of a rally as Anaheim put its back against the wall.
