This Day in Baseball History:
October 28, 1968 > Future Hall of Famer Bob Gibson unanimously wins his first Cy Young Award. Not only did the Cardinals' ace lead the National League in strikeouts (268) and shutouts (13), he also recorded a 1.12 ERA -- the lowest mark in the 20th century for anybody with at least 300 innings pitched.
