This Day in Baseball History:
October 5, 1941 > With two outs in the ninth inning of Game 4 of the World Series, Dodgers catcher Mickey Owen lets a third strike get away from him. The gaffe allows Yankee outfielder Tommy Henrich to reach first base, and kick-starts a rally that culminates with a 7-4 New York win. A Brooklyn win would have evened the Series at two games apiece, but the Dodgers go on to lose in five games.
