Miami is making its mark on the world's soccer scene with the inaugural Miami Soccer Challenge!
Starting in 2013, World soccer giants will face off at Marlins Park in an unprecedented sporting event!
A three year agreement has been struck with Global Football Challenge to stage the Miami Soccer Challenge at the state-of-the-art Marlins Park. Miami Soccer Challenge will take place yearly, with its inaugural game in 2013. The World's leading Clubs are being lined up to headline a one off Super Game in 2013.
I am confident Miami will have the same success as the other annual tournaments around the world. The Dubai Football Challenge has risen in statue since it was launched in 2007 and January´s spectacle saw Italian Champions AC Milan beating big-spending French side Paris Saint-Germain.
- Stuart Webb President of Global Football Challenge
The partnership is supported by the City of Miami and the Miami-Dade Sports Commission. Also, the world leading soccer legend Ruud Gullit joins in support of the new venture as an ambassador to the Miami Soccer Challenge. As part of the partnership, the Global Football Challenge has agreed to engage in charitable acts throughout South Florida. World famous soccer players will participate in community projects and coach local youngsters in an effort to solidify an ongoing commitment to the local community.
We believe the Miami Soccer Challenge is a perfect fit for this market and for Marlins Park. With its retractable roof and contemporary design, Marlins Park is second to none in beauty, accessibility and fan comfort. The strong soccer fan base that constitutes South Florida together with the cultural blend that defines it makes Miami a great city for soccer and Marlins Park is the perfect venue to host it.
