D.H. Stanton Elementary Partnership

Beginning in the fall of 2005, the Atlanta Braves teamed up with Daniel H. Stanton Elementary school for a long-term partnership to help improve reading performance, decrease absenteeism, increase parent participation and encourage physical activity among students.

As part of the Braves' Tomahawk Tutor Program, during the 2006-2007 school year 44 Braves front office employees volunteered their time to tutor and mentor students on a weekly basis.

The Braves also engaged in numerous other activities with the school throughout the year including hosting Parent University, a workshop for parents of D.H. Stanton students providing them with valuable information and knowledge of the resources available in the community, holding a Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon, and participating in Career Day and Field Day festivities.
