Braves "PLAY" with Local Youth

On Tuesday, July 17 the Atlanta Braves hosted the PLAY Clinic for more than 60 Atlanta-area youth at Turner Field. The event promoted the benefits of wellness and living a healthy lifestyle and also provided youth with information on the dangers of using performance enhancing drugs.

The ninth year of the PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) campaign featured two activity stations for the participants in the outfield of Turner Field and also allowed them to hit baseballs in the Braves' batting cages. The group was addressed by Braves Head Athletic Trainer Jeff Porter, Assistant Athletic Trainer Jim Lovell, Ervin Watson Jr. from the Georgia School Nutrition Association, Don Hooton from the Taylor Hooton Foundation and Braves pitcher Brandon Beachy.
